Pretty Red Earring

Last week CraigiePoo ordered us both these really gorgeous earrings from Peruvian Earring. They're really gorgeous. I wasn't please with any of the full body shots of the earrings. I took this one with my macro lens and I think I love it. There is something about the curl of the wire that I'm drawn to.

Monkey Business

On our first date, CraigiePoo and I went to an independent children's boutique store. They sold a bunch of kiddie items: clothes, books, etc. They also sold these little magnet, bendable animals. Apparently this wasn't the first time that CraigiePoo had been in the store. She was just adding to her collection.

I married her anyway.

Peachy Goodness

My mother used to make Peaches and Dumplings. It's basically peach cobbler, but with dumplings. Anyway, I got the craving for some last week and I mentioned it to CraigiePoo. In addition to making peaches and dumplings, we poured a little of the peach mixture on our pancakes. Delicious. What else can I say?

CraigiePoo pulled out the George Foreman grill this evening and whipped us up some delicious homemade burgers. She brushed some special barbecue sauce on the burgers while they were on the grill. Deliciousness increased 10 times over.

I'm spoiled.

New Spice Rack

This is courtesy of my aunt as a wedding gift. It took almost a year to get. It was originally delivered to our old address and left on the front steps. The unsecured front steps. As far as we know, some hoodrat has got the original spice rack and is filling it up with their reefer and dope.

I said reefer. Haha!

Aren't reefer and dope the same thing? I don't know. That "Just Say No" got to me and I've never touched either.

Why would you need cotton swabs this long?

Fish

We went to Home Depot last week because CraigiePoo needed some dirt for her garden. While she was looking at everything else except for dirt (why can't we ever go in for the one thing we're supposed to get) I hung around the fish pond and took this photo.

One day, when I'm richer, I will have my own Koi pond and it will be the envy of the neighborhood.

I really don't know what to call this

This is my best friend, Alexis', dessert from her birthday dinner at Fresh Choice. It's a combination of brownies, strawberry syrup topping, cookie crumbs, and some unnamed pudding that was being offered. I think there might even be a bit of whip cream in there.

My teeth hurt just at the thought of eating this.

CraigiePoo, Alexis, and I (or is it me?) went out to dinner to celebrate Alexis birthday. She chose Fresh Choice as her restaurant. Apparently I haven't been to Fresh Choice in a while. I'm not sure what this is, but I do know it's not edible. It's one of the many flowers found near the plantation. This one seems to keep blooming and then dying. Bloom, die, bloom, die, bloom, die. It really needs to make up it's mind.

Blueberry Goodness

It may be expensive as hell to live in the Bay Area, but there is no other place I'd want to live. In addition to the openmindness (as long as you believe what we believe), the people, the history, there is the fresh fruit that we are blessed to have damn near all year round. I don't know how it happened, but I had managed to never eat a fresh blueberry until last year. I love them.

I took this with my macro lens. It was almost 5pm and I was sitting right next to the window. Our apartment gets western exposure, so between 4-8 the sun is blasting into the apartment. I didn't tweak the color or anything. I just played with the Shadow and Highlight buttons in Lightroom 2 to get this color. The berries were a bit ashy and dull in reality.

Minty Good

In case you haven't heard, it's officially summer here in the Bay Area. It's hot, windows are open 24 hours a day, and cold, delicious treats are out in full tempting folk. I even shaved my legs this morning in anticipation of having to wear a skirt to beat the heat. We went to the grocery store today and our cart was full of mainly things to drink and ice cream. These Safeway cups of ice cream were on sale for $.49. Score!

By the way, I did wear a skirt. I need to get more sun on my legs. For a black chick, my legs are pale as a ghost.

Mmm...icy cold

I could so go for one of these right about now. I think it's close to 90 degrees in the apartment. I guess summer has finally arrived. I have to admit I've been real lazy with the photography ever since the school semester ended. Shiny!

I finally went out and got myself a watch. I haven't worn one in about 2 years. The battery in my previous watch stopped working one day and I just never got it replaced. I've been wanting a big face watch for a long time now. They call this the "boyfriend" watch. It's got a masculine influence, but still girly. I think the cubic zirconia around the face is what prevents it from being a man's watch. I like it. CraigiePoo wants one now.

End of Spring

I purchased these flowers back in May sometime around Mother's Day. I'm pretty sure one could go all philosophical and interpret these dead flowers as representing the end of spring and the beginning of a new season. The circle of life. Blah blah blah.
