Amethyst Bracelet

My goal, one day real soon, is to make a bracelet that I can actually wear. Once again, I made the bracelet too big. It's not as big as the other previous bracelet, but it stills feel a little to big to wear out of the house. I just know I would constantly be checking my wrist to make sure it was still there.

Apparently, my wrists aren't has fat I think they are.

Amethyst Necklace

I've spent so much time in the arts and crafts stores this past month that I should start investing in the companies. I went to a new bead store yesterday in Berkeley and almost lost my mind. So many beads, so much poorness. I could hardly control myself.

I made this necklace for the one, the only CraigiePoo. It's got amethyst, hematite, and a bunch of glass seed beads in purple, silver, black, and white color. The woman loves her purple.

Specifications:

Quiet Fire-Self Portrait

Back in 2005 I graduated from massage school. It was an awesome experience that lasted over the course of a year. At my graduation ceremony some of classmates handed out these handmade charms and this was the one that was made especially for me. I keep this by my bedside all the time. I love it and I think it sums me up pretty accurately.

Twine Bitches!

I'm not sure if it's technically twine, but that's what I like to call it. I was going to use it for necklaces making, but I'm finding it doesn't work so well. So far I've only used it to attach pendants to the necklace string.

Just some of the many beads that are now living on our dining room table. I need to go out and find some pendants soon so I can make some more necklaces.

Pretty Red Earring

Last week CraigiePoo ordered us both these really gorgeous earrings from Peruvian Earring. They're really gorgeous. I wasn't please with any of the full body shots of the earrings. I took this one with my macro lens and I think I love it. There is something about the curl of the wire that I'm drawn to.

Specifications:

Monkey Business

On our first date, CraigiePoo and I went to an independent children's boutique store. They sold a bunch of kiddie items: clothes, books, etc. They also sold these little magnet, bendable animals. Apparently this wasn't the first time that CraigiePoo had been in the store. She was just adding to her collection.

I married her anyway.

I like to gamble

I'm pretty sure I have mentioned my minor issue with peanuts.

I may be a teeny tiny itsby bitsy tad allergic to them.

Doesn't stop me from eating them.

I should stop pushing my luck.

Blueberry Goodness

It may be expensive as hell to live in the Bay Area, but there is no other place I'd want to live. In addition to the openmindness (as long as you believe what we believe), the people, the history, there is the fresh fruit that we are blessed to have damn near all year round. I don't know how it happened, but I had managed to never eat a fresh blueberry until last year. I love them.

I took this with my macro lens. It was almost 5pm and I was sitting right next to the window. Our apartment gets western exposure, so between 4-8 the sun is blasting into the apartment. I didn't tweak the color or anything. I just played with the Shadow and Highlight buttons in Lightroom 2 to get this color. The berries were a bit ashy and dull in reality.

My inner-child wanted to come home and have a couple of strong rum and cokes and stuff her face with greasy food. That's what my inner-child wanted to do today.

Summer's Almost Here

You know summer's here when you start seeing cherries appear. I think it's still a bit too early for cherries. These weren't terribly awful, but they weren't delicious either. I give it about another month before cherry season is in full swing.

Bet Your Oranges Never Looked Like This

Why stick a bunch of colored push pins into a poor, defenseless orange you asked? Why not. This is what happens when I get bored. This orange was sitting on my desk, waiting to be eating, when I got the urge to stick the pins in its flesh. It makes a pretty mohawk.

Caramel Sundae

I could go for one of these right now. I left work early yesterday and stopped to get sundaes for me and the Mrs. I topped mine with delicious dry roasted peanuts. I may or not be slightly allergic to peanuts, but that doesn't stop me from eating them.

Spicy

There are many things I avoid ever eating: alfalfa sprouts, okra, hot sauce, just to name a few. Hot sauce was always...well...hot. I just couldn't get into it...until now. I discovered this delicious spicy treat and can't stop putting it on everything. It has that bite of hotness, but there is also some sweetness to it so I don't spend the entire meal with tears in my eyes and my tongue on fire.

I still will not touch okra. It's disgusting. Slimy and just gross.
