It was good to have a day off from work today. I left the house once to walk down to the local grocery store. The Mrs. needed some onions for dinner. I took this in the grocery store parking lot. They got a nice little garden happening down there. I never noticed until today. I guess sometimes it is good to get out of the car and walk around your neighborhood. The things one discovers.

M is for May
M is for Multiple Orgasms
M is for Masturbation.
I know the month is almost over, but in case you didn’t know, May is National Masturbation Month. I’m not sure about the rest of y’all, but I’m a patriotic kinda gal and make sure I celebrate a few times a week for every week of the month.
Masturbation is one of those things that almost all of us do, but many of us can’t actually bring ourselves to come out and say so. I'm going to be the first to come right out and say it.
I'm Strange and I'm a proud masturbater.
We’ve been taught to believe that to touch ourselves in a sexual way is immoral, dirty, and just plain old gross. We been trained to believe that the only way for us to receive sexual gratification is within the confines of heterosexual relationship, preferably in a marriage. We been fed the idea that if you touch yourself "down there" you run the risk of desensitizing yourself to physical stimulation. I’m here to tell you, it’s not. When we embrace masturbation as a healthy part of our sexual lives, we free ourselves from thousands of years of societal dogma that has sought to control our pleasure.
If I’m being completely honest, I’ll have to admit being a little distrustful of anyone who claims to not masturbate. Yeah, yeah, I know it’s judgy and all, but I have to wonder how uncomfortable with their body is a person who doesn’t partake in a little self love from time to time. It’s perfectly safe, healthy, and normal (whatever that is). Think of it this way, at least you know the person you’re with will have the decency to call you the next day. If you don’t call the next day, you might want to talk to a therapist about your communications skill with yourself. I’m just saying.
Reasons to masturbate:
It feels good
No risk of STIs/STDs (sexually transmitted infections/sexually transmitted disease)
You don’t have to buy dinner to get yourself in the sack.
Alleviate headaches. Trust me on this one. Trust.
It feels good
No risk of unwanted pregnancy
Discover how you like to be touched, loved, fucked. Increase your sexual awareness.
Being comfortable with your body means being more comfortable with a partner.
As you can see I've been making changes to the blog. It's a good thing I don't have a lot of hair on my head or I would have pulled most of it out by now. I cannot figure out how to get some of the text on the previous pictures to show up. It's there, but since the new background is black and the text is black it's not showing. I have spent hours trying to find the problem with no luck even though I've followed what should be simple directions. To say it's frustrating is to say that the sky is blue and Bush II was a bad president.
I aiming to start writing more about my other interests now that I'm done with school (at least for the semester). I did change the tag line of the website to give you, my dear followers, a clearer idea of what's going on and what to expect in the future. We'll see how that goes.
I took this back at the beginning of April. I was in my car waiting for the rain to ease up long enough for me to go into the hair salon. I notice the rain making funky patterns on the window pain. It was kinda cool.

This is what the plantation flower that I posted a couple of weeks ago looks like. It's a cute little flower before it opens. If you look closely you can see two little bugs doing whatever two bugs do in the middle of the day.

I took this yesterday from the balcony. That's a cloud. A raincloud. In May. 4 days before June. In the Bay Area. It's still raining and thundering like it's January! WTF. It needs to stop.
That is all.

I took this early last month on a walk around the neighborhood. There are a lot of pretty and colorful flowers in our area. I really need to get a book on flowers so I can figure out the names of the flowers that I'm always taking photos of.

CraigiePoo pulled out the George Foreman grill and grilled up some pork chops tonight. Hopefully, once the weather warms up, there will be more grilling.

Here's another photo from the surprise party we went to last month. I love this one. Something about the orange color on the sweater and on the plate I find really appealing.
I found the food appealing as well.

I ventured out of the apartment this afternoon and made my way to my usual Jamba Juice store. Today was a smoothie kind of day (isn't any day a smoothie kind of day). I got my regular order of a power-size Razzmatazz. I think the next time I try a photo like this I'll use an orange, lemon, or lime instead of the cherry. I like the cherry, but it kind of just blends in with the smoothie.
It was delicious still.

You know summer's here when you start seeing cherries appear. I think it's still a bit too early for cherries. These weren't terribly awful, but they weren't delicious either. I give it about another month before cherry season is in full swing.

Why stick a bunch of colored push pins into a poor, defenseless orange you asked? Why not. This is what happens when I get bored. This orange was sitting on my desk, waiting to be eating, when I got the urge to stick the pins in its flesh. It makes a pretty mohawk.

More random flowers that I don't know the official name for. I call them pretty pink bells. I got a little heavy handed with the color controls in Lightroom. It happens that way sometimes.

So, CraigiePoo started her new job today and spent all weekend cooking dinner for the weekend. Tonight was spaghetti with alfredo sauce and broccoli. It was really despite me not cooking the spaghetti long enough. She said 11 minutes, I did 11 minutes. Somehow, it just didn't come out as nice as when she does it.

I could go for one of these right now. I left work early yesterday and stopped to get sundaes for me and the Mrs. I topped mine with delicious dry roasted peanuts. I may or not be slightly allergic to peanuts, but that doesn't stop me from eating them.

I'm pretty sure it turns my insides yellow and could be harming me, but I have always loved Kraft Mac 'n Cheese. I've tried many others, but Kraft remains tops.

This was dessert from last night's Thai dinner. I love sticky mango rice. I made it once. It took forever so I haven't bothered again. Maybe I'll try again over the summer. I could go for some right about now.

We had Thai food tonight for dinner. I love Thai food. We order coconut milk soup, peanut sauce, steamed rice, BBQ mussels, and mango sticky rice. I could eat mango sticky rice all day for a month. I took this with my 50mm lens.
I think I need to go back for seconds.

No special story behind this photo. I'm just feeling extra lazy this week. It's the end of the semester and I'm not even running on fumes any more. Just 2 more weeks. I'm looking forward to spending the summer working on some cool photo and other creative projects.

There are many things I avoid ever eating: alfalfa sprouts, okra, hot sauce, just to name a few. Hot sauce was always...well...hot. I just couldn't get into it...until now. I discovered this delicious spicy treat and can't stop putting it on everything. It has that bite of hotness, but there is also some sweetness to it so I don't spend the entire meal with tears in my eyes and my tongue on fire.
I still will not touch okra. It's disgusting. Slimy and just gross.

If I could only have one type of meat for the rest of my life it would be bacon. How can you hate on bacon? It's the most delicious thing on earth. You probably hate babies and small puppies too.

OK, I really have no idea what I did with this photo. I just started playing around with the controls in Adobe Lightroom 2 and end up turning what was a pink flower into this funky purple creation you see before you.
Randomly touching buttons isn't always a bad thing. ((^_~))

Stargazer Lilies are my absolute favorite flowers. I think they are so beautiful and smell awesome. I'm not sure if this is a stargazer, but I do know it's a lily. I finally pulled out my tripod and mounted my Canon 50D onto it with the 100mm macro lens. I rarely shoot in manual focus, but I had to turn off the auto focus to get in real tight. I think I really like this picture. I may have it printed. We've got so much wall space in our new place it's time to put some art on the walls.

Strange is the name. As a writer, I’ve written many short stories & have been published in numerous anthologies. I’m also an emerging photographer and sexual health educator. I love photography and love to talk sex. This blog is a potpourri of my many interests and then some. I’m pretty random in what I post. If you like randomness, you’re in the right place. You’re going to fall in love. Don’t even try to fight it. Many have tried, but they all fail.
