Peeking Through

It's mornings like this when I definitely need a ManServant, someone to drive the car so I can snap photos while in the car. I was behind the wheel when I noticed this streak of red peeking through the clouds. Since I was on the freeway I couldn't pull over. Fortunately, it was still visible when I pulled into the parking of the plantation a few minutes later.

Seriously, I need a ManServant!

Strawberries and Brie

Today CraigiePoo and I celebrated our one year as Domestic Partners. To celebrate we feasted on strawberries and french bread with melted brie. There were also cinnamon rolls and stuff mushrooms.

I tweaked the color in this one just a bit to make the strawberries a little bit lighter. I should go eat some more now.

French Bread

I'm going to come out of the closet (again)...I'm a carbohydrate addict and I'm not ashamed! I love bread. This loaf of bread was an impulse buy as I was standing in the grocery checkout line. I only went in for ginger-ale, but came out with this delicious bread. ::drool::

Shadow Play

I was sitting on the couch taking a break from unpacking when I glanced over at this wall and noticed the shadows. I really love the light in our new apartment. I'm also loving the fact that it's now daylight savings time and is still bright at 6pm.

Burritos shouldn't be this big

We made a stop out our favorite Mexican restaurant this afternoon and got the usual, a super burrito with everything. For whatever reason, CraigiePoo and I have been eating this week like we're both pregnant. Once again, we got too much food for two people. There were nachos and quesadillas involved. Ridiculous, but muy bueno.

Mmm...Healthy

I'm loving our new apartment, especially the kitchen. We finally have a bright kitchen with a huge window that let's in so much natural light. I took this around 5:30pm using only the light coming in from the window. How could anyone hate broccoli when it looks this good?

Rejected Candy

More flash work today. I'm not happy with this photo. I could not get rid of the shadow and the lighting was just icky today. This is what you get when you incorporate common household lights into your photography.

Christmas Candy

Today I decided to not be afraid of using an external flash and hooked it up to my camera. The few times I've used the built in flash on my Canon 50D the pictures come out looking crazy and washed out. I've been reading a lot of photo sites lately about techniques for using an external flash and decided to bite the bullet.

Voila!

Christmas candy is still edible two months later, right?

Photo of the Day-Day 35

Just a random photo today. My two external backup hard drives. I shoot photos in the largest JPEG format possible for my camera so the files tend to be quite large and take up a lot of room on my computer. I've had to take the photos off my computer and store them on these guys.

Photo of the Day-Day 6

I discovered last night that this lens, which actually belongs to my traditional 35mm camera, can be used on my DSLR camera. Awesome!!! I took this photo on my perpetually clutter desk with just the desk lamp lighting the shot. I really like the results I get with lighting when I take shots of things on my desk.
